The Malvern Big Band was formed in 2000 by local musicians, Mike Halliday and Chris Lewis. The band line-up of 5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, and 4 piece rhythm section play a wide range of Big Band jazz, but with an emphasis on contemporary British and American arrangers. The Big Band is augmented with top jazz vocalist, Kirsten Winter. The Big Band has played at a wide number of venues in the Worcestershire and Midlands area since its formation, including Malvern Theatre, Ledbury Market Theatre, Evesham Arts Centre, Pershore No. 8 Arts Centre and many others.
